Tomson Group, as one of the first companies to "take a look" and put down roots in Pudong, has witnessed the development and opening up of Pudong. Charles Tong, vice-chairman of tomson Group, delivered a speech at the forum. The speech read as follows:

Distinguished guests and friends, it is my great honor to stand here and make a speech.

Tomson Group has been in Pudong for 27 years. Since 1992, we have been the builders and witnesses of pudong's development and opening-up. I still remember my first visit to Lujiazui, where I took a ferry across the river.

It should be said that Tomson entered Shanghai in 1992 and devoted himself to Pudong. There were many ups and downs, but we have always had confidence in Shanghai, clearly seen the pattern and future of This Pudong, and worked patiently.

First of all, let me tell you something about faith:
During the 1997 financial crisis, Mr. Tang Junnian, the founder of our group (that is, my father), was faced with a choice whether to put down the assets in mainland China and go back to Hong Kong and Taiwan.

With great anxiety, we consulted The mayor of Pudong, Zhao Qizheng, who was in charge of Pudong at that time. He spoke three paragraphs, which strengthened our confidence in holding Pudong's assets.
1. The impact of the financial crisis on mainland China has not been great, so it is necessary to compare the future returns and risks of these places to withdraw funds to Hong Kong and Taiwan or to keep funds in Shanghai.
2. The largest developer in Pudong and Lujiazui is not Tomson, but Shanghai Municipal Government. It is lujiazui, Jinqiao, Waigaoqiao and Zhangjiang, the four major development companies. The government will continue to invest in the development of Pudong in the future. The development of Pudong is a long-term policy and long-term investment. Shanghai has the firm confidence to do pudong well.
3. If Tomson has difficulties, tomson can adjust its development strategy, but it hopes tomson can develop together with Shanghai and Pudong.

It is this talk that tomson Group has witnessed the confidence and persistence of Shanghai Municipal government in pudong's development and opening up.

That is why "confidence" is so important, and since that speech, we have not wavered even in the face of a worse crisis for our group than in 1997. Since then, we have been firmly rooted in This land with our "confidence" in Pudong. Up to now, our main business is basically in the mainland and in Pudong.

Second, on "vision" :
At the beginning of the planning of Tomson Yipin in 2000, a Japanese developer suggested that a building of Tomson Yipin could be taken out and turned into a small apartment suitable for Japanese people, and they were willing to rent or even buy it out for a long time. My father, Mr. Tang Junnian, laughed at the request.

We believe that the future of Lujiazui will gather world-class enterprises. At the very beginning of our planning, we hope to serve those entrepreneurs in China, in Pudong and in Lujiazui, hoping that their enterprises and families will develop in Lujiazui for a long time to come.

Nineteen years later, it has been confirmed that the insistence was right.

"We believe in the future of Lujiazui, so we plan our products according to the highest standards in the world," Ma said.

Third, patience
With a clear vision of the future and confidence in pudong's business environment, we look at the business cycle in a very long way. With a business mindset, we grow with Pudong, develop and hold a lot of assets.

Many people do not know that we are almost involved in the construction of various properties in Pudong development, including residential buildings, five-star hotels, office buildings, industrial parks, logistics bases, factories and shops.

We have developed the first 5A office building and the first five-star hotel in Pudong. The Zhangjiang Microelectronics Port we have developed is the earliest industrial park serving science and innovation enterprises, giving birth to information technology enterprises such as Shanda Games and China Literature Group. The talent apartment we built in Zhangjiang is also the earliest long-rented apartment in Pudong.

It should be said that as long as pudong development requires the type of property that Tomson does build and, in a manner of holding, continues to serve Pudong. Today, Tomson owns more than 500,000 square meters of operating property in Pudong.

It should be said that patience is accompanied by perseverance and dedication. To participate in the development of Pudong, we are not only a temporary passion, but also a long-term companion.
